Brenda & Veronica’s Three Day Pickles
This is an easy replacement for making canned pickles.

Ingredients:
- approx 20 pickles
- 2 cups of white vinegar
- 4 cups of white sugar
- 2 tbsp. pickling salt
- 1 tsp, turmeric
- ½ tsp, celery seed
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 white or yellow onion thinly sliced
- Slice cucumbers 1/8 inch thick {leave skin on}.
- Slice Onion 1/16 inch thick.
Directions:
- Layer in ice cream pail alternating … layer of cucumbers then layer of onions.
- Fill ice cream pail 2/3 full.
- Combine vinegar, sugar, salt, turmeric, celery seed, mustard seed in a pot to make brine.
- Boil brine and cool to room temperature {do not remove spice bits}. Brine does not have to completely submerge cucumbers.
- Then pour over cucumbers and onions, and place in the fridge for 3 Days… {you can taste test after first day!}
