Easy No-Knead Artisan Bread

This is a easy bread to make that eliminates the kneading process.

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/4 cups of white flour.
  • 2 teaspoons yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 1/2 cups cool water.
  • optional: 1 tablespoon cornmeal for dusting pan.

Instructions:

  • In a un-greased large bowl whisk flour, yeast and salt together... mix it well.
  • Pour in the water a bit at a time and mix.
  • The dough will seem dry and stringy until it has been mixed enough.
  • Shape into a rough ball and leave in the bowl and cover tightly with plastic wrap and leave on counter at room temperature for 2-3 hours it should double in size.
  • Lightly dust nonstick baking sheet with a bit of flour and corn meal.
  • Take dough and cut in half.
  • Shape into 3" x 9 loaves.
  • Cover again for 1 hour.
  • Heat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Uncover the bread and score the bread a 1/2" deep with a sharp knife.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Gently tap the loaves - if they sound hollow they are done.
