Easy No-Knead Artisan Bread
This is a easy bread to make that eliminates the kneading process.
Ingredients:
- 3 1/4 cups of white flour.
- 2 teaspoons yeast.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- 1 1/2 cups cool water.
- optional: 1 tablespoon cornmeal for dusting pan.
Instructions:
- In a un-greased large bowl whisk flour, yeast and salt together... mix it well.
- Pour in the water a bit at a time and mix.
- The dough will seem dry and stringy until it has been mixed enough.
- Shape into a rough ball and leave in the bowl and cover tightly with plastic wrap and leave on counter at room temperature for 2-3 hours it should double in size.
- Lightly dust nonstick baking sheet with a bit of flour and corn meal.
- Take dough and cut in half.
- Shape into 3" x 9 loaves.
- Cover again for 1 hour.
- Heat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Uncover the bread and score the bread a 1/2" deep with a sharp knife.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Gently tap the loaves - if they sound hollow they are done.
