The A&E 2020 Summer Trips (Part 6)

by

This trip was our first one that involved a stay at a hotel... we were somewhat concerned with the issues associated with the current pandemic; however, all was good, thanks Canad-Inn Brandon. We again had great luck with the weather as when we left Winnipeg at Eight in the morning, there was supposed to be a risk of rain later in the evening, but it held off until we got to the hotel. The entire trip was spent under a blue sky with light overcast.

We racked up a bit over 900 kilometers in driving and covered the most sites of any of our trips to date. We really enjoyed the area around Ninette and Pelican Lake.

We were hoping to do one of the shorter hikes in Spruce Woods Provincial Park, but due to the rain, we decided against it. Instead, we thought we would do an "inside event". So, we visited the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum in Brandon. It was a so interesting to see so much aircraft and vehicles from the 1940's. The displays were interesting and well maintained.
