Project: 3D Printer Stand

by

So... I have joined the legions of people getting into 3D printing to help satisfy my need for RPG and Table Top Gaming support materials.

I purchased a Creality Ender 3 and decided to build a small table to hold all the materials needed for printing in one spot.

3D Printer Stand

I built the box out 3/4" white melamine, there is a 3/4" MDF sacrificial table top. There are two drawers to hold spare spools and tools. The open area underneath is a spot to add a Battery Backup to run the RaspberryPi and Printer, in the future.

After having this for a month or so, I discovered that I should not have used my go to Blum 3/4 Extension drawer slides, and instead gone to a Accuride full extension slide. This is not for the length of the extension, but instead the roller bearings in the Accuride induce less vibration into the table when opening during a print. This has not caused an issue but the self closing feature of the Blum drawer slides causes a shudder to the whole table when they slide closed.

This is my first attempt to work with FreeCAD, it has a bit of a steep learning curve, but seems to product a nice product
